New Terrain Bases from Crescent Root Studios

I don't usually post about stuff I buy but I'm making an exception.  I just purchased these terrain bases from http://crescent-root.com and I already love them.
The pre-painted town base is made from laser cut MDF and has a locking system to keep everything in place.  It also comes with three road caps that can mark the exits from the town or more road sections can be added. (most likely my next terrain purchase)
The smaller base comes in two parts and is unpainted resin.  For a little extra they can come painted, but I'm going to probably use these for an Italian board.
I can only recommend these.  The larger pre-painted MDF board is $90, the small resin unpainted one will be back in production come June 2014.  I guess I must have got one of the last ones!

Out of the box.

Just needs paint!

With BF buildings and a few loose trees added.

  1. Doesn't look half bad Rich. Not sure $90 is the right price though... Somewhat out of my budget for a single terrain item.

    1. I hear ya Dai. I had to save up for a bit before I got these. I don't think of them as a single terrain piece but as a way to enhance multiple pieces. Buildings butted right up along a road didnt look right to me. Sidewalks and yards do and these are a great way to add these features while still having a modular gaming board. If you consider the walls that are modeled on these that's another terrain item that wont need to be purchased.

    2. When you put it that way it's such a hard pill to swallow I guess.

  2. Looking good, really gives those buildings some context. One of the local guys I play sometimes has Crescent Root buildings, they make top-notch stuff.

    1. I'm probably going to pick up some of his buildings too, gotta spread those purchase dollars out a bit or risk the wrath of the spousal unit.
